Objective
Support energy planning by estimating relative building-level energy demand without relying on utility data.
What we did
We combined building footprints with satellite-derived indicators (surface materials, roof characteristics, surrounding land cover) to estimate relative energy demand categories. The emphasis is on comparison across buildings and clusters rather than absolute consumption values.
Outcome
- Building-scale energy demand classes
- Identification of high-demand clusters
- Input for energy efficiency retrofitting and renewable placement
